There are many difficulties or challenges in human resource (HR) planning. Let us discuss them one by one:
i) There is lack of coordination with other functions of the organization as the HR manager totally absorbed in their own world keeping other manger separate.
ii) There is also lack of integration with organizational plans and human resource plans as they are prepared in isolation.
iii) Due to non cooperation between human resource manager and other functional managers human resource planning fails.
iv) There is insufficient support from the top management due to which human resource planning fails.
v) Human resource specialists themselves fail to understand the purpose of human resource planning.
vi) Due to insufficient initial effort also human resource planning fails.
Thus above are the main difficulties in human resource planning and in order to ensure effective human resource planning, it is necessary to fill the gap between the present resources and future needs.
