Concept of Price bundling and its types

Price bundling means selling two or more separate products together for a single price. It is usually done in case of goods which are sold as package. Like televisions now a days sold with 3 D glasses. It is of three types:

i ) Pure bundling: where two products can be sold only as package is known as pure bundling. For example a mobile phone with a battery.

ii )Mixed bundling: it means when the product can be sold separately as well as a bundle. For example refill of a pen.

iii ) Tying: in such a situation the main product is purchased with the complementary product. Like battery operated toy is purchased with its complementary product cells.
